This single family house was designed as a competition entry by staff members of Michael G. Imber Architects with illustration support from JJ Zanetta. The program called for a three bedroom, two bathroom home with an attached garage to be designed to meet LEED certification criteria on a site in a redeveloping Dallas neighborhood. The design is a traditional craftsman house with a full front porch carried by double columns and decorative brackets. The attached garage is set back to reduce its presence on the primary facade, and includes a ramped apron for an accessible entry through the garage. A jury consisting of Institute of Classical Architecture and Art members, Habitat for Humanity representatives, home owners, and builders selected this design as the competition winner, and is scheduled for construction in early 2011.
