Scaleybark Station is a prototype Transit Oriented Development in the southern portion of downtwon Charlotte. As part of a design competition, the City offered two adjacent parcels for redevelopment with a program for park-and-ride structures, a public library, a regional grocery store, retail spaces, and a combination of rental, market-rate, and subsidized housing. The images below convey the priorities of New Urban planning, such as pedestrian access, appropriate scale and location of buildings, and generous landscaping centering on a public green.
